In the Collier County Government Complex. Narratives and displays explore 10,000 years of Southwest Florida history. Displays include prehistoric fossils and artifacts. A 5-acre historical park behind the museum has a typical Seminole Indian village, an active archaeological lab, garden, a steam locomotive and an early-style swamp buggy. The museum system includes two other sites: Robert’s Ranch in Immokalee and Museum of the Everglades in Everglades City (quaintly housed in the town’s old laundry)
